Within their industry, Miles consistently out performs other companies. Miles A/C Service has been recognized for their stellar skills and customer satisfaction. Miles was named, “Outstanding Performance Partner of the Year,” in 2012 and has been a Lennox Premier dealer since 2005. The Better Business Bureau ranks Miles A/C Service with a AAA rating, their highest honor. The company was selected, “Best Pick” by Houston Community Newspapers in 2013 & 2015. Miles A/C Service remains committed to their employees by providing elite training opportunities and has received the “Lennox Training Excellence” award. Miles A/C Service is a member of many area chambers, Rotary, Innovative Missions, Helping Hands Ministry with Sagemont Church, and Sisters Helping Sisters. Miles employees serve the community as softball league sponsors, little league coaches, mentors for Pasadena’s children, and volunteers with many local churches.


 


2016 Industry of the Year

The Houston Area Safety Council (HASC) continues to be a steadfast leader in developing innovative and advanced solutions in the areas of training, workforce development, occupational health, technology and service. As an industry-driven 501(c)3 non-profit association governed by a volunteer board of directors, the Houston Area Safety Council was established in 1990 offering only one course and now provides services to hundreds of facilities and thousands of contractors globally. With a mission of building safe workplaces by improving the quality and integrity of the workforce, HASC provides training to 1,800 trainees daily and delivers almost 1 million units of service/training annually.

Edna Pierce is a "natural" in her recognition as our 2016 Artist of the Year. Edna's involvement in the Pasadena community, as well as in the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Cultural Arts Committee, knows no bounds. Every aspect of Pasadena's history is chronicled and kept by Edna, Curator of the City of Pasadena's Heritage Park & Museum. Edna has heart and soul for the preservation of history and art. She is committed to sharing her knowledge with the next generation.

 


 


201Citizen OF THE YEAR

Soon-to-be retired PISD Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kirk Lewis, was recognized as the 2015 Citizen of the Year at the Pasadena Chamber’s Annual Gala: “Celebrating 75 Years of Chamber Leadership.” Kirk is one of the most well-liked and well-respected professionals ever to grace the hallways of Pasadena Independent School District. The new Career & Technology High School was given Dr. Kirk Lewis’ name in the Spring of 2015. Dr. Lewis joined the staff of PISD in 1986 as an Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent. His talents and abilities were easily recognizable as he promoted up the ranks of the district, taking the highest honor of Superintendent in April 2006. Kirk is an award-winning Christian author with three books published to date. He loves watching any kind of sports and is an excellent water color artist.

Consideration for this award are companies who exhibit financial stewardship, active involvement in community organizations, participation in local events and lending resources. This award is announced annually at the State of the City Award luncheon.
