One of the Pasadena Chamber’s Top 5 Local Advocacy Priorities has been improving transparency and access to volunteer leadership opportunities on city boards and commissions. In 2024, the Chamber encouraged the City of Pasadena to implement an online application process through a Request for Action that would allow residents and business leaders to express interest in serving their community.

We are pleased to see progress toward that goal. The City of Pasadena has launched its first online application for citizens interested in serving on the Crimes Control and Prevention Board, marking an important first step toward a more accessible and transparent appointments process. If you are interested in learning more and applying visit HERE

Expanding access and transparency in these volunteer opportunities helps ensure Pasadena benefits from the talents and expertise of engaged residents and business leaders.  The Chamber commends the Mayor, City Council, and staff for advancing this effort and looks forward to continued collaboration as additional boards and committees are added to the online application process and made available.
