For many students and their families, playing college sports has been a lifelong ambition. Athletes and their support network need to fully understand the expectations of the NCAA and its member institutions with respect to eligibility and amateur status for all 23 sports. Without this understanding, decision making along the way can inadvertently jeopardize eligibility, amateur status and the dream of college sports and a college education. The NCAA rules have changed recently affecting freshman entering high school in 2012/13 and beyond. The rule changes apply to all 23 NCAA sports--this seminar therefore addresses all 23 NCAA sports!
Ideally, athletes in 7th grade and above are encouraged to sign up for the seminar together with a parent or guardian if possible. Getting early insight will assist in making decisions about high school course selections, extracurricular sporting activities and college aptitude testing. Each attendee must pay the $20 registration fee--no discounts are permitted per NCAA regulations. No Refunds. This seminar runs approximately 2 hours and is intended to de-mystify and streamline the process. Net proceeds from seminar assist the 501c3 host organization PCR to purchase youth sports equipment.
